How this market settles
Each city's high is the maximum temperature in the National Weather Service's final daily climate report for its station, the same result as that city's own high-temperature market. Los Angeles wins if its high is above Phoenix's, and Phoenix wins if it's the other way round.
If both highs are the same, or either city's high-temperature market is cancelled, every bet is refunded.
Betting closes at 6 PM the evening before, in the more eastern city. Weather bets can't be sold back: they're held until the result.
