How this market settles
Each side's result is the temperature in its station's regular hourly report for 1 PM ET, taken a few minutes before the hour, as published by NOAA's Aviation Weather Center, to a tenth of a degree Celsius. Chicago wins if it reads warmer than Phoenix, and Phoenix wins if it's the other way round.
If both read the same to the tenth of a degree, or either report doesn't come in within 3 hours, every bet is refunded.
Betting closes 75 minutes before the hour. Weather bets can't be sold back: they're held until the result.
